Many e-commerce customers have dreadful shopping experiences because of which they do not return.

In order to get customers to trust your e-commerce, you need to gain their confidence. Some of the steps mentioned below will help your customers to have a good shopping experience, which in turn will make them trust you.

  1. Build A Reputation for promptness in service, delivery and customer satisfaction, make this your USP. Customer reviews should be highlighted, especially when advertising. Social media too should be prominently used. Customers generally check out the customer reviews even on heavily advertised websites and social media, word of mouth is the most effective and discounted means of advertising.
  2. If possible make your location traceable to customers shopping online, because a customer will trust a site with a geographical location more than a virtual one.
  3. For Processing of Payments, use technology which will ensure safe processing of credit cards and ensure that the customers have to enter only requisite information with regard to their transaction. Some Ecommerce websites are known to ask customers to fill in details of their social security number, making customers suspicious about the validity of the site. Also a payment on delivery would go a step further in assuring customers about the authenticity of the website.
  4. For Delivery of Products, communicate with the customer, right from receipt of the order the till the delivery of the product so as to assure the customer. However the delivery process should kept within a time-frame of 2-3 days, if not then inform the customer with regard to the delays. The option of returning the product, if not satisfied would also go a step further in reassuring a customer, however the time period and conditions should apply.

The above steps are just the basics to enable customers to have a good and safe shopping experience at your e-commerce, which in turn will help in gaining customer confidence to return to your website to shop.
